Originally hailing from Yorkshire – famous for no-nonsense, plain speaking – Michael has lived in London for over thirty years, where he began his professional practice at Foster + Partners. His focus has been on historic buildings and places, preserving them in sensitive yet compelling ways by releasing their potential and enabling a purposeful future. Michael is an active champion of diversity and inclusion, within the architecture profession and beyond, as a means of building enduring and respectful relationships between different cultures.
